Serverless | No infrastructure is set up in advance, but is spun up on demand, where the provider dynamically manages the allocation of resources |
Idempotent | The property of certain operations in mathematics and computer science that they can be applied multiple times without changing the result beyond the initial application |
Orchestration | Coordinating multiple systems at once, for example: migrating databases, scaling docker services, etc... |
Provisioning | Getting or providing resources and services, such as network bandwidth, VM's, libraries, etc... |
"Lift and shift" | Lift and shift is a migration strategy that usually uses migration tools to replicate existing applications without redesigning the application |
Holocracy | Authority and decision-making are distributed throughout a holarchy of self-organizing teams rather than being vested in a management hierarchy |
Microservice | Architectural style that structures an application as a collection of loosely coupled services |
Monolith | A single-tiered software application in which the user interface and data access code are combined into a single program from a single platform |
